1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Aoru ("the Service"), operated by ONETOOL ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is currently in beta and features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time without notice.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- By using the Service, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
- The Service is provided in English and is intended for an international audience. It is not localized for, marketed to, or directed at users in any specific country.
- The Service is not available in jurisdictions where access to AI-powered conversational services is prohibited or restricted by law. You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction.
- We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access from any jurisdiction at our sole discretion without prior notice.
- We do not knowingly allow access to individuals under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data.
3. Accounts
You may sign in via third-party social providers (Discord, Google, X/Twitter, Twitch, Steam) or email/password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Service Description
Aoru is an AI-powered platform that provides:
- Conversational AI character chat (1-on-1 and group)
- Interactive storytelling, roleplay, and world-building tools
- AI image generation
- A marketplace for user-created characters, stories, and content
- Community features (channels, direct messages)
- A Discord bot for character chat
4A. Discord Bot ("Aoru AI Bot")
We provide a Discord bot that allows you to interact with AI characters directly within Discord servers. By using the bot, you agree to the following:
- Data consent: When you first use the bot, you must accept our data policy. Your Discord User ID, username, and messages sent in bot-activated threads are collected and processed.
- Message content: The bot reads messages you send in active conversation threads to generate AI responses. Messages are stored as conversation history.
- Account linking: An Aoru account is automatically created and linked to your Discord account when you accept the data policy.
- Data deletion: You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us through our Discord community or by emailing appeal@aoru.app.
- Discord ToS: Your use of the bot is also subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Developer Terms of Service.
- Content limitations: The Discord bot operates within Discord's content policies. Certain content available on the web platform may not be available through the Discord bot.
4B. Content Standards
The Service does not generate, encourage, or permit sexually explicit, pornographic, or violent material ("Prohibited Content"). By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- All AI-generated content is maintained at a SFW (Safe For Work) standard, limited to suggestive-level content at most (e.g., romantic dialogue, mild flirtation).
- We enforce three layers of content safety: (1) Pre-trained AI configured to reject explicit content generation, (2) Real-time content filtering, and (3) Manual supervisor lockdown as a final measure.
- Any attempt to circumvent these safeguards to generate Prohibited Content may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
- AI-generated content is entirely fictional and does not depict real persons or events.
- Zero tolerance: Content depicting, referencing, or involving minors (real or fictional, including characters described or implied to be under 18) in any sexual or exploitative context is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate and permanent account termination and reporting to relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable law enforcement agencies.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Create, share, or distribute content depicting or promoting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, whether based on real or fictional minors.
- Create, share, or distribute pornographic or sexually explicit content involving minors in any form, including text, images, or AI-generated content.
- Attempt to depict, simulate, or roleplay sexual content involving minors, regardless of character age settings.
- Create characters based on real individuals (living or deceased) without authorization, including public figures, celebrities, and private persons.
- Upload, use, or distribute images depicting or resembling real people.
- Create characters that infringe on third-party intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrighted characters from anime, games, movies, TV shows, books, or other media.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, stalk, or harm any individual.
- Direct hate speech at real individuals or groups based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or any protected characteristic.
- Promote or glorify self-harm, suicide, violence, or illegal activities.
- Use the Service for spam, scams, phishing, or unauthorized advertising.
- Attempt to bypass content filters, safety systems, or age verification.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Use the Service for illegal activities or to violate any applicable laws.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt unauthorized access to the Service.
- Distribute malware or interfere with the Service's infrastructure.
We enforce content moderation including automated detection systems and human review. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent ban at our sole discretion.
6. AI-Generated Content & Safety
AI-generated responses are produced by third-party language models (including models by Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, and others routed through OpenRouter). You acknowledge that:
- AI outputs are not verified for accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness. They may contain errors, biases, or offensive material.
- AI characters are fictional and do not represent real people, professional advice, or factual information.
- You are interacting with an AI, not a human being.
- Your conversation data is sent to third-party AI providers for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Authorized personnel may access conversation data for content moderation, safety enforcement, debugging, and service improvement purposes.
- We employ content safety systems but cannot guarantee all harmful content will be filtered.
- You should not rely on AI outputs for medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.

7. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of the content you create (characters, stories, images, etc.). By posting content on the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and make available your content in connection with operating the Service.
You are solely responsible for the content you create and share. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law without prior notice.
8. Marketplace
The marketplace allows users to share characters, stories, and memory cartridges with other users. Users are responsible for ensuring their shared content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. We may remove content at our discretion.
9. Payments & Subscriptions
9A. Payment Processing
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. By making a purchase, you agree to the applicable payment processor's terms of service.
- We do not store your full credit card number or payment credentials.

9B. Subscriptions & Credits
- Subscription plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled before the renewal date.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Credits or usage allowances included in your plan do not roll over to the next billing cycle unless explicitly stated.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Continued use after the price change constitutes acceptance.
9C. Refunds
- Due to the nature of digital services and AI-generated content consumed in real time, refunds are generally not available once credits or subscription benefits have been used.
- If you believe you were charged in error or experience a technical issue that prevented you from receiving the service, contact appeal@aoru.app within 14 days of the charge.
- For EU consumers: You acknowledge that by using the Service immediately upon purchase, you waive the 14-day withdrawal right provided under the Consumer Rights Directive, to the extent the digital content has been fully provided.
10. Copyright Infringement & Takedown
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request to our designated contact:

Your takedown notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to locate the material.
- Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number).
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Upon receiving a valid takedown notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the infringing material and notify the user who posted it.
Repeat Infringer Policy: Users who repeatedly infringe third-party copyrights will have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and AI systems, is owned by ONETOOL and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service itself. Third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion during the beta period. You may request deletion of your account at any time through support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
No refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period or unused credits upon termination for violation of these Terms.
13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation of the Service, especially during the beta period.
- We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of the Service or reliance on AI-generated content.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea. If you are an EU consumer, you retain the benefit of mandatory provisions of your local consumer protection laws.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
